Delivered through an active learning style, delegates covered a range of modules including:

• Roles and Responsibilities of a Marine Co-ordinator• Marine and wind farm legislation
• Marine Operations (meteorology, COLREGS,buoyage, passage planning, and vessel inspection)
• Control of work, passengers and cargo in a wind farm
• Emergency response requirements
• Human element and management of change.

The course concludes with delegates taking part in an exercise using Humber Maritime College’s state of the art
marine simulators.

Delegates came from the Humber region and abroad to join the programme. Trevor Bell who attended from Rix
Shipping said:

” The experience was above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend those involved in
Marine Co-ordination sector to attend the programme, irrespective of whether or not they’re experienced or a new
starter. I have worked in the sector for many years and it certainly refreshed my skills and emphasised the importance
of safety both on land and at sea.”

Humber Maritime College’s Mike Jubb added:

“We designed the course specifically to help those in the Offshore Wind
sector dealing with Marine Co-ordination. It’s especially aids the Humber wind energy based businesses to upskill their
Marine teams. Utilising the simulators gives some authenticity to the content we share with delegates”.

The course is attracting interest from across the sector and bookings have started for the next programme on the 13th
