Hull University Business School is offering four MBA scholarships as part of its commitment to supporting regional business.
Full scholarships for the Hull Executive MBA programme are available to cover two years of part-time study, starting September 2016.
The scholarships, including one aimed at women in leadership, are available for those wishing to commence study this month.
Professor Kathryn Haynes, Dean of the Business School said:
The Business School is committed to the advancement of women in business and we are delighted to provide a full scholarship to cover the tuition fees of a prospective female student.
The scholarship, aimed at supporting women to achieve greater representation in leadership at a senior level, covers the cost of UK tuition fees, for the normal duration of the AMBA-accredited programme (two years).
Professor Haynes added:
The scholarships are an excellent opportunity for those who have been considering studying for an MBA to gain a prestigious qualification to enhance their leadership and strategic skills.
Scholarships are also available for students from the following:
- Charity Sector
- Public Sector Organisations
- Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)
Sarah Cash, who is Director of Business and Income Development for Dove House Hospice and was awarded the scholarship for a charitable organisation, said
I feel so lucky to have been awarded a scholarship to undertake the Exec MBA as it enabled me to access the excellent teaching at the University of Hull and develop my skills as a director at the hospice.
The course not only taught me a wide range of practical skills which have helped improve the way we work but it also put me in touch with business leaders in other sectors. As a group we were able to learn about different types of businesses and share real life examples and stories.
I would highly recommend the Exec MBA to anyone working in a senior position in a charity or private business as the skills it teaches can be applied in any setting. The structure of the course also enables study alongside full time work which was a real benefit.
Awarded on the basis of professional and academic excellence, the scholarships are open to applicants who meet the relevant entry criteria, have not been awarded any other scholarship and are able to commence their studies in September 2016.
Prospective students can find out more about these scholarships at an open evening, from 5.30-7.30pm on Monday (5 Sept) at the Business School. This offers an opportunity to visit the University campus, and to talk to teaching staff.
The deadline for scholarship applications is 12 September 2016.
