Organisers of the Business Supper Club, will partner with Hull Young Professionals, to present the event in Paragon Arcade from 4pm until 7pm on Thursday 5 June.
Allenby Commercial, owners of the arcade in Hull city centre, will provide free entertainment, with food and drink vendors and other businesses staying open after hours to sell their wares.
Pat Coyle, chair of Humber Biz Week, said: “With more than 40 events taking place during the week the street food supper club is a great way to give people the chance to get together, talk about what they’ve been doing during the week and generally have a good time.
“Paragon Arcade is the ideal venue to unwind, and enjoy some great food and drink and support local businesses. The event was a big hit last year as one of the curtain raisers for Biz Week and by moving it to the final day of the main programme, people won’t have to worry so much about where they have to be the next day!”
Humber Business Week will run from Monday 2 June until Friday 6 June and offers a programme of events taking place on both sides of the Humber and designed to appeal to organisations working in all sectors.
By Thursday evening the only remaining formal engagements will be the University of Hull Humber Business Week dinner and The Business Day at Bridlington on the Friday. With both events sold out weeks in advance, organisers of the Business Supper Club and Hull Young Professionals decided to once again join forces to offer and event which will be open to all.
Phil Ascough, who co-founded the Business Supper Club in 2014 to support restaurants in Hull and East Yorkshire, said: “People have been asking for the last couple of months whether the street food supper club will be back this year and they like the idea of moving it from the beginning of the week to the end.
“With a 4pm start and 7pm finish it enables people to dive straight in as soon as they’re clear of the main programme, and then head off to explore the other fantastic bars and restaurants in the city centre if they want more.”
Charlie Allenby, Business Development Director of Allenby Commercial and a founder member of Hull Young Professionals, said: “We had a great turnout at last year’s event and we expect to attract even more people this year by moving it to the end of the week.
“It’s great for the businesses that will be staying open and for the Arcade itself, generating extra footfall and raising awareness of the quality and variety of products and services available. We’ve organised a DJ and all people have to do is turn up and enjoy themselves.”
Admission is free but advance booking is advised. Food and drink will be on sale, and other businesses planning to open include Artisan Flowers and Gloss HQ beauty salon.
