Forrester Boyd, one of the region’s largest independent chartered accountancy firms, has teamed up with Grimsby’s award-winning Docks Beers to raise a glass to its 90th anniversary.

To mark the milestone, Forrester Boyd commissioned Docks Beers to create a special celebratory beer, aptly named Liquid Asset. This hazy pale ale won’t be on general sale, but will be enjoyed at Forrester Boyd events and given away in prize hampers throughout the anniversary year.

Last month, partners and staff from Forrester Boyd visited the Docks Beers brewery to see the brewing process in action, meet the talented team behind the ale, and enjoy a first taste of Liquid Asset. The visit also provided the perfect opportunity for a photoshoot under the theme Cheers to 90 Years.

Founded in April 1935 in Grimsby, Forrester Boyd has grown into a leading accountancy firm serving clients across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. The collaboration with Docks Beers has a deep local connection, as both businesses share strong ties to the town’s heritage. In fact, Forrester Boyd once had an office on Grimsby Docks until it was destroyed in an incendiary raid by Hitler’s Luftwaffe in 1943.

Speaking about the collaboration, Forrester Boyd Partner Philip George said: “Celebrating 90 years is a remarkable achievement and we wanted to do something unique that reflects both our heritage and our future. Partnering with Docks Beers felt like the perfect choice – not only are they a local success story, but they also share our pride in Grimsby. Liquid Asset is a fun, memorable way for us to share this milestone with our clients, colleagues, and community.”

Paul Savage, Managing Director at Docks Beers, added: “When Forrester Boyd approached us about brewing a special beer for their anniversary, we were delighted. It’s a brilliant way to celebrate such a long-standing local business, and we loved creating Liquid Asset for them. It’s a hazy pale ale with character – just like the firm itself – and we hope everyone who gets to try it raises a glass to their 90 years of success.”

As Forrester Boyd looks ahead to the future, the firm remains proud of the strong roots it has built in the region over the past nine decades. Liquid Asset is more than just a toast to its history – it is a symbol of the partnerships, community spirit, and shared successes that have shaped its journey. With a glass raised high, Forrester Boyd celebrates 90 years of supporting clients and communities, and looks forward to the next chapter with the same dedication, expertise, and local pride that have defined its story since 1935.
