Humber LEP is proud to once again be supporting Humber Business Week 2019 – while hosting engaging events to suit every kind of business.
Whether you’re a start-up, an SME or an established enterprise, or even if you’re just interested in the direction of the Humber region – the Humber LEP’s daily events will have something for you to sign up for.
As Business Week kicks off on Destination Monday on Monday, June 3rd, we invite you for a half-time team talk with a difference at the KCOM. Using the stadium’s changing rooms, Dave Pendleton of Trans2 Performance, who have delivered leadership programmes for Hull FC and the Combined Forces Sports Team, will deliver a fast paced 45-minute session to brief you on the key characteristics of outstanding team leadership. Sessions take place at 11am and 12.15pm.
Also on Destination Monday, Growth Hub Live is a chance for SMEs to drop in and connect with business advisors from the Humber Business Growth Hub and its partner support and funding organisations – such as the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, Skills Support for the Workforce and The Department for International Trade. This will help you discover how to access the support to scale up your SME and continue your journey to success.
On Tuesday, June 4th, Kishor Tailor, Chief Executive of the Humber LEP, will be giving a presentation at the event entitled ‘A digitally enabled region, a sustainable future’ at ‘Transforming the Humber 2019’ – the CIPD Humber Branch Conference between 8am and 1pm at the Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel.
Meanwhile, Wednesday, June 5th sees the arrival of our Annual Business Summit. During the summit, you can expect to hear business leaders from across the Humber discuss growth in the region throughout the last 12 months – before being among the first to discover just what the future holds as we unveil the first proposals for our ambitious new Industrial Strategy for the Humber.
This will be followed by another opportunity to access the Growth Hub team and learn more about the support available to SMEs throughout the Humber. Both events will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Forest Pines Spa & Golf Resort in Broughton near Scunthorpe, with the Summit taking place between 8.30am and 10.30am and the Growth Hub Live event taking place between 11am and 1pm.
It’s a chance for those in the construction industry to get involved on Thursday, June 6th, with ‘Building Excellence for Contractors…You Need to Be in It to Win It’ – taking place at 8.30am at Country Park Hotel Hessle. This is a chance to learn what it takes to win more construction bids, get onto the supply chain and become part of the construction success across the Humber Region.
Finally, Friday, June 7th sees the arrival of The Business Day at Bridlington Spa. As one of the main sponsors of the event, we’ll be on-hand providing information and engaging with guests on our Industrial Strategy, while a ‘breakout session’ with our Growth Hub will provide an opportunity to let businesses better understand how we are able to help them in practical ways.
Chair of Humber LEP, Lord Haskins, said: “Humber Business Week is a great demonstration of what the region’s business community can achieve when we all work together.
“We will be supporting this collaborative approach in our events this Business Week, including at our Annual Business Summit. Our Humber Business Growth Hub’s £6m #GrowMySME programme will also be delivering events throughout the week, and we will again be supporting The Business Day at Bridlington Spa on Friday.
“We will also be launching our Industrial Strategy prospectus during Business Week, which will set out the next stage of the Humber’s plan for growth. I hope you will take part in discussing this important business-led strategy with us.”
