The Journal For Business to Business Marketing

High-growth business owners across Greater Lincolnshire are being encouraged to take part in a new free-to-join mentoring programme which helps businesses to grow.

Eligible business owners, senior leaders and directors from any business sector can join the Greater Lincolnshire Mentoring Programme – a six-month scheme which involves a series of one-to-one mentoring meetings, peer support sessions and a workshop led by highly experienced business leaders.

Those who join the programme will be guided by mentors who have experience in leading businesses through high growth. Among them is Sue Liburd MBE – Managing Director of Sage Blue and Deputy Lieutenant of Lincolnshire – who has worked on several initiatives including TEDx Brayford.

Sue, along with mentors Howard Gannaway and Clive Vacher, will be able to provide participants with unbiased support, advice with difficult business decisions and honest and constructive feedback. They will also be able to share their own experiences of business successes and failures and their own useful network of contacts with participants.

Emma Kinna, Executive Development and Professional Education Manager at the University of Lincoln, said: “The programme has been set up to aid quicker and more stable business growth, and it is also a fantastic way to connect like-minded business leaders who can provide guidance for others throughout their business journey.

“We also recognise that business owners are very busy people and one of the great benefits of this programme is that they only have to dedicate three hours of their time each month.

“This year, mentoring on the programme will commence in March, June and October and there are 12 available spaces for business leaders in each cohort.

“The closing dates for eligible submissions are 28th February, 30th May and 30th September 2021.”

The programme has already helped Daniel Hone, owner of local franchise Kixx Lincoln, to grow his innovative football programme.

Daniel said: “I would 100% recommend the Greater Lincolnshire Mentoring Programme to other business owners as it gives you access to support networks and information that you otherwise wouldn’t have had access to.

“The programme has given me a peer network and a mentor who understands my business, and it’s great that I can call on them at any point to help me overcome the challenges that I am facing.”

The Greater Lincolnshire Mentoring Programme is run by the University of Lincoln and the Business Lincolnshire Sustainable Growth Programme. It is being part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
