Be Loyal To Local

As the UK’s economy attempts to restart and recover, being loyal to local has never been more important…..which is why the North East Lincolnshire Council and the area’s leading business support organisations E-Factor and Investment Hub NEL are joining forces to send out a very simple request through their brand new campaign Loyal to Local NEL.

“Businesses that make up our local high streets, offices, business parks and industrial sites, along with the thousands of self-employed traders, and entrepreneurs across the area have been seriously affected during this pandemic” said Rachel Appleton, Business Advisor for E-Factor. “Not only do they account for over 90% of employment in the area, they are essential to the future of our towns and villages and help to create choice within our communities which is why we feel so passionately about driving this campaign.”

“We’re trying to make people aware that when you spend locally, you’re investing in the local economy and that means so much more!  You could be contributing toward local employment and further local spend through suppliers. For every £1 spent locally, it creates £4 for the local economy.”

Debs Cooper Investment Officer for NELC also commented “We will be welcoming all types of businesses to get involved in our campaign which will run across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Our main aim is to encourage local spend and we will be highlighting new services, collaborations, new launches, diversification, innovation and other exciting offers.” “We will also be putting up shopping vouchers to spend locally and running fun competitions and themes to try and attract momentum.”

As slowly but surely the country starts to ‘unlock’ it has never been more important to recognise the importance of supporting the local economy.

“Our purpose is to help the local business community thrive and we feel that our Loyal to Local campaign will help to support that in North East Lincolnshire and surrounding areas. We hope that people will get behind us by following @LoyaltoLocalNEL on facebook, Instagram and twitter  #whereyourspendmatters”
