Community groups and organisations in the East Wolds and Coastal Ward are being invited to apply for grants from the Lissett Wind Farm Community Fund.
Applications can be made by organisations such as community groups, parish councils, schools and churches for projects that are of public benefit, including charitable, educational and not-for-profit activities.
The fund receives an annual donation of over £84,000 from the wind farm’s operating company, Ventient, and an independent decision-making panel comprising of local representatives from parishes within the area and the wind farm owner. East Riding of Yorkshire Council will assess applications and award grants.
Previously, the fund has supported a wide range of projects, from local community buildings to sports clubs and youth groups.
Councillor Jane Evison, chair of the Lissett Wind Farm Community Fund panel, said: “These grants can go a long way in helping many local groups and organisations in our community.
“This is the tenth year we have been offering grants and we are delighted to see how many organisations have benefitted from it in the past so we would like to encourage the application to the funding because it can make a difference in your community.”
The closing date for applications to the fund is Thursday, 30 April 2020.
