A former quarry site in Scunthorpe is set to be submitted for new homes by Onward Holdings Ltd which is proposing a multi million-pound building project that will provide a shot in the arm to the local economy as well as boost the area’s housing stock.
If the application to be submitted is approved by North Lincolnshire Council it is anticipated that hundreds of new homes could be built on the 22-acre brownfield site located off Glebe Road, Scunthorpe.
If planning permission is granted Onward Holdings, renowned for developing and operating warehousing and industrial units, will belooking to appoint a housebuilder for approximately several hundred new properties on the land that will help regenerate the area.
The company is already a stakeholder in the local economy, owning nearby Glebe Park, a retail development which is occupied by a variety of national retailers including Bathstore, Farmfoods and Johnstone’s Decorating Centre. It also has long term tenants in properties on Warren and Normanby Roads.
