A specialist training provider is offering a new round of finance training which has improved the bottom line of businesses across the Humber region and which offers the ultimate learning flexibility.
Golding Computer Services is preparing to roll out new courses which enable candidates to complete all their work and their tests online at a time which suits them. Goldings also has a strong track record for securing full funding for the courses.
Vic Golding, Managing Director of Goldings, said:
We have people who set aside some time for training after the kids have gone to bed, and others who do it while they’re sitting in the garden and enjoying the weather.
You could even do it during half time in the big match, or while waiting for the start of a penalty shoot-out! One of the people who passed the last course actually took his test as he travelled home from work on the bus.
Candidates who studied the Level 1 and Level 2 International Association of Bookkeepers (IAB) Computerised Sage Accounting for Business courses earlier this year achieved a pass rate of 100 per cent.
That programme was fully-funded and Goldings are hoping to offer a similar arrangement for the new Level 2 courses which are in demand now and which will be extended to include payroll.
Di Garbera, a director of Goldings, said:
The flexibility is a great benefit for people who are busy at work, and the feedback from those who passed the latest course indicates they made the most of it. Even those who are not particularly tech-savvy were comfortable with the system – if you can handle online shopping you can do this.
Other advantages are that it offers a recognised qualification, and there’s even a free NUS discount card for 12 months which gives candidates the chance of big savings on their shopping and leisure activities.
But the key benefits are for businesses. The people who completed the course included finance and admin staff, sole traders, self-employed book-keepers, contractors, managers who are interested in how Sage works, accountants and even directors.
They are all small businesses where people want cover for their finances in the event of holiday or illness and where the directors want to know a bit more themselves about the procedures. It’s also helpful when they are making appointments of finance staff.
Goldings is exploring the availability of funding for businesses operating in the four Humber local authority areas – Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.
