Greater profits for small electrical and trades businesses are one step closer as Trade Chimp rolls out the next stage of its tech-savvy trades service across the UK.

The Hull-based company’s new specialist business development manager, Donna Smith, is now showcasing Trade Chimp’s operational and administrative support service to the country’s tradespeople and small trades businesses.

Mrs Smith has more than 17 years’ experience in sales management roles and was most recently in Dubai for four years with the Blue Sky Thinking Group, including two years with its online human resources app platform, Beneple.

Based in Bath and with a remit to cover the South, the Midlands and the West of the country, Mrs Smith’s career highlights also include a six-year stint as area sales manager for Avon Cosmetics in South Wales where she was responsible for the recruitment and performance management of sales reps.

Trade Chimp, which has just opened a head office at Hull’s Centre for Digital Innovation, (C4DI), is a user-friendly job management software package available as a downloadable app.

Suitable for trades businesses with up to 10 staff, including electricians, plumbers and gas fitters, the Trade Chimp service consists of two parts. There is the main web app, designed for the owner/operator of the business, and a separate mobile app for the staff. It can be downloaded on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop, and is accessible 24/7 from any internet-enabled device.

While a vital part of the app is helping to reduce trades companies’ dependence on paper time sheets, diaries, spreadsheets, and help deal with payroll and invoices, it also helps open-up the potential of businesses data.

Trade Chimp’s unique app is focused on the utilisation of a company’s data, such as invoices, receipts, and time sheets, providing monthly Business Intelligence reports that clearly show where profits are coming from, which workers are the most valuable to the business, and which type of jobs are not performing.
