GLOBAL recruitment agency RoS International Ltd has fired up its services to the energy sector with the appointment of two senior contract managers.
Emma Barwick joins the Parliament Street-based agency from another city recruiter, and Katie Seed has been promoted to the senior role after spending nine years at RoS.
Both women will work with multi-national companies in the renewables and other energy sectors.
Emma, 32, has spent the past two and half years working in the recruitment industry, specialising in all aspects of energy generation.
Before that, she worked in management, managing sales teams in associated businesses.
Working in management, I have always been closely involved in hiring and firing and found the process fascinating, so when I was looking for a change of direction in my career, recruitment seemed a natural choice.
I started working in the recruitment industry two and half years ago and it was definitely the right decision.
I have been extensively involved in recruiting for large, global energy companies and that is a core sector for RoS International, so joining their team is a fantastic move.
Katie Seed, 25, began her career as an apprentice at RoS International Ltd nine years ago, and has worked her way up through a number of roles at the business, including administrator, payroll and resourcing.
She qualified as an assistant contracts manager on achieving her REC Certificate in Recruitment Practice. After two years working in construction, aggregates and civil engineering, she was promoted to senior contracts manager this month, focusing on renewable and traditional energy projects.
Katie, who is also RoS’s lead internal auditor for the ISO 9001 standard, said:
I joined RoS at a young age and have never wanted to leave. The company is a great place to work and has given me a number of challenging roles over the years which have enabled me to develop professionally and from a personal point of view.
Being promoted to senior contracts manager is the next exciting chapter of my career at RoS.
Managing director, Carl Burgar, said the appointments strengthened RoS’s already considerable offering to the energy industry.
RoS International specialises in the supply of skilled technical and engineering personnel and has provided staff to large energy projects across the UK and overseas.
Mr Burgar said:
We are increasing our focus on the energy sector and key senior appointments such as these will really help us to provide a first-class service to both renewable projects, as well as nuclear and fossil-fuel based developments.
I’m extremely proud of Katie and all that she has achieved during the past nine years with us, and I’m delighted to welcome Emma to the team. Between them, and the rest of the RoS team, I believe we can provide an exceptional service to the global energy sector.
