A new appointment at a Yorkshire Wolds poultry business affirms its expansion expectations following consecutive years of growth.

Middleton on the Wolds based poultry producer, T.Soanes & Son has created a new role of Financial Controller and has appointed Claire Wright to the position.

Mrs Wright, from Seaton, previously worked at a specialist plastics manufacturing company in the food and pharmaceutical industry and joined T.Soanes & Son to manage the business’ finances in July.

She said:

I am looking forward to working with the team at Soanes Poultry as it is obviously a very forward thinking and progressive company.

I enjoy the challenge that factory production creates for an accountant to manage.

I am delighted that I am able to combine my accounting experience in manufacturing with my personal background in agriculture.

Nigel Upson, T.Soanes & Son general manager, said:

T.Soanes & Son is a leading player in the Yorkshire food market and this new appointment will help us manage our growth strategy and contribute towards the company’s momentum.

We’re delighted to welcome Claire to the team as a valuable staff member and we hope our strong financial performance will continue to give both customers and suppliers the confidence to grow long-term partnerships with us.

T.Soanes and Son is a family owned business which has been rearing and preparing chicken since 1947. It employs over 80 people and rears five million chickens a year on its Yorkshire Wolds farms and sells its chicken and game to butchers and independent retailers in Yorkshire and to wholesalers nationwide.
