For Entrepreneurs Only, the organisation that brought “100 Ways to BOOST your Business”, “Superhero Battle Royale” and “FEO’S Fantastic Failures” to Hull are planning another innovative event for Bizweek 2016.

Their Gurus V Grasshoppers event will feature a host of local Entrepreneurs, pitting a team of accomplished and experienced Business owners (Gurus) against our younger rising entrepreneurial stars (Grasshoppers) to see what they can learn from each other about running a successful business in a rapidly changing digital age.

Is cloud technology and social media making our lives easier, or did filing cabinets and fax machines make better use of our time and money?

Jan Brumby, Chief Executive of FEO, explains:

The idea of two competing teams from different generations is a really exciting one and it’s bound to lead to a really stimulating event. The business landscape is changing drastically with the rise of digital technology and we can’t wait to hear first hand at how it’s impacted on these entrepreneurs and how they operate.

Hosted by broadcaster and journalist Blair Jacobs, the FEO Gurus vs Grasshoppers event will focus on a range of topics from developing business relationships and modern communication to ways of delighting customers and bringing the best out of employees.

The Gurus team is being led by veteran marketeer Jonathan Leafe, whilst he’ll be joined by author and business consultant David Hall, entrepreneur Joyce Clappison and seasoned businessman Malcolm Scott. The fearsome quartet will be locking horns with the Grasshoppers team led by health and nutrition Entrepreneur Phil Benson, along with director Helen Wheeler-Osman, photographer Andy Crozier and brewer Allan Rice.

Jonathan Leafe said:

Digital technology has had an impact on businesses right across the board and all of the people involved in this event are looking forward to getting their views across.

For every digital whizzkid there’s someone out there who can’t bear to put down the notepad so it’s up to everyone to fight their corner and generate a great event.

The Gurus vs Grasshoppers event will take place from 8am until 10am on Tuesday 7th June at The Vineyard Centre, Vulcan Road, Clough Road, Hull and forms part of the programme for Humber Business Week 2016. Now in it’s 12th year, the week-long programme, showcases the best of talent, business and entrepreneurship from Hull, East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire. Since it’s inception, Humber Business Week has attracted internationally renowned speakers, expos and workshops to become Europe’s longest established festival of business.
