Albion nominated for national industry award

Barnsley based Albion Valves (UK) Ltd, an increasingly popular UK valves supplier, has been shortlisted in the national H&V News Awards 2016, and is now a finalist in ‘The Training Initiative of the Year’ category.

Albion has been nominated for its Expert Ease training initiative, designed for use by the building services industry. The Albion team will attend an awards ceremony in the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London on 21st April this year with other finalists to find out the overall winner of the 2016 award.

Expert Ease is a pocket size guide that has been designed to help ensure the building services industry is talking the same language when it comes to hydronic balancing and related products.

Hydronic system balancing is one of the more complicated tasks faced by building services engineers and historically heating and chilled water systems were balanced by specialist engineers only.

However, with the introduction of dynamic balancing products onto the market, there is an increasing opportunity to simplify the process, cut costs and improve consistency once the new technologies have successfully been adopted.

Expert Ease is a pocket size guide that has been designed to help ensure the building services industry is talking the same language when it comes to hydronic balancing and related products.

The introduction of the pocket guide is designed as a reference point, offering customers practical support for installations and in translating some of the associated technical terminology.

The guide illustrates the differences between static and dynamic systems and shows how a typical installation might work, as well as demonstrating how components function to ensure an even flow of energy across heating and cooling systems.

David Keys, Albion Valves Managing Director commented:

The whole team is delighted to receive this industry recognition for our Expert Ease initiative. Hydronic balancing can seem daunting even to an experienced installer, we wanted to help simplify the process for engineers and offer more technical support to our distributors selling our range of hydronic products. We wish everyone in the finals the best of luck, and very much look forward to the awards in April.

Albion currently stocks around 5,000 lines of products, suitable for applications predominantly within the building services industry.
