SUPPLY Lincolnshire has announced a series of three free performance-enhancing workshops for Boston, Lincoln and East Lindsey businesses – all scheduled to take place during June 2015.

Created as a way of introducing county SMEs to SUPPLY Lincolnshire and the free support that is available through the project, the newly announced workshops will focus on a number of topics, ranging from finding and winning customers to workplace organisation.

Nicolas Garnier, Project Manager for SUPPLY Lincolnshire, commented:

SUPPLY Lincolnshire has been running for nearly a year, and we want to continue providing eligible Lincolnshire businesses with advice and support to help get them ready to win new contracts, not just from private firms, but from public organisations.

To achieve this, we’ve designed a series of workshops that will provide SMEs with general information and action points for growth and improving internal processes. Our hope is that attendees will recognise the value of the advice we can provide and decide to join SUPPLY Lincolnshire as a way of securing even more support, including tailored one-to-one assistance.

SUPPLY Lincolnshire’s three workshops include:

5S and Lean Manufacturing Workshop – 9th June, 9.30am to 4.30pm

This workshop will provide an easy-to-understand introduction to Workplace Organisation and two key ways of developing a stable environment to help ensure safety and efficiency – Lean and 5S.

The one-day workshop will give delegates an understanding of Lean principles and how 5S can improve business performance and is suitable for all levels, from shop floor to senior management.

ISO9001 Workshop – 16-17th June, 9.30am to 4.30pm

This two-day course will give delegates an insight into ISO9001 – an internationally recognised management system that outlines a systematic and positive way for businesses to direct and control its activities to meet the requirements of existing and future customers.

The workshop will overview what ISO9001 means, what the commitments are and what the benefits could be. At the end, delegates will have learned the basic requirements and be in a position to assess their own business and start an implementation programme to demonstrate compliance with the standard.

In partnership with Procurement Lincolnshire and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Lincolnshire County Council successfully secured £251,000 from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to help stimulate the Lincolnshire economy by developing and supporting supply chains within the county’s key sectors.

In addition to preparing SMEs to win contracts with the county’s largest organisations, SUPPLY Lincolnshire is also focused on connecting smaller Lincolnshire companies with one another to encourage buying and trading locally.
