Two world trade centres are leading a drive for greater cooperation between Humber and Dutch offshore operators and suppliers.
WTC Hull & Humber has teamed up with its counterpart in The Hague for a special matchmaking event and gala in the Dutch city on November 21 and is inviting businesses to join them.
The event will also involve the Energy Group from WTC Twente in eastern Holland, the Association of Dutch Suppliers in the Oil and Gas Industry and Team Humber Marine Alliance.
“We have many mutual interests in the North Sea and this is an excellent way to promote the Humber’s capabilities,”
said Mark O’Reilly, Team Humber director.
“For individual firms, it is an opportunity to market their services directly to Netherlands businesses and identify potential partners.”
Laurens Kok, of WTC The Hague, said:
“Both regions are the home base for many companies involved in activities in the North Sea and this will be an opportunity to get to know each other and team up for future cooperation.
“For centuries the British have had trade relations with our country and there have been many acquisitions and investments indicating that it is good doing business between the two countries.”
The matchmaking event follows WTC Hull & Humber striking up a relationship with The Hague at the World Trade Centers Association’s general assembly in Bucharest last April.
Following the afternoon matchmaking sessions, the evening will feature The Hague International Trade & Investment Gala on the theme of the UK’s role as a major leader in global commerce.
The gala evening and dinner will bring together key people in the international trade and investment sectors. British ambassador to the Netherlands, Sir Geoffrey Adams, and representatives from UK Trade & Investment Netherlands will be attending.
A special £675 business travel package, with up to 50 per cent funding available for eligible SMEs, covers flights from Humberside airport, hotel on November 20 and 21 and the gala evening and dinner.
