Following a successful inaugural event last summer, residents of Hull and the East Riding will once again be able to find out more about electric vehicles (EV) and sustainable transport as the region hosts a second EV experience event.

Let’s Go Electric! is organised by Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council and will take place on Saturday 20 June, from 10am-3pm, at the Priory Park & Ride site.

From electric cars to electric buses and eBikes – the event will allow people to explore some of the benefits of EV adoption as well as other sustainable transport solutions.

Visitors will have the opportunity to:

Dealers and exhibitors that will be present at the event, include:

This free event, which is being delivered with the support of Let’s Experience Electric, will take place at the Priory Park & Ride site, just off the A63, Clive Sullivan Way, between Hull and Hessle. The site offers ample free car and cycle parking as well as regular bus services to and from Hull City Centre.

Stagecoach East Midlands will also have two of their new electric buses at the event, one of which will be running free taster trips around the area.

Refreshments will also be available for purchase on the day.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transport and infrastructure at Hull City Council, said: “Transport is a major contributor to carbon emissions, and cleaner vehicles are one of the ways we can improve air quality and support a healthier city. But we also know that people’s circumstances vary — and for many residents, the most important thing is understanding what options are available and what genuinely works for them.

“This event is about giving people clear, practical information. Whether you’re curious about running costs, charging, or simply want to see what’s out there, it’s a chance to explore the latest technology in one place and speak directly with experts.

“Last year’s event was extremely well received, and we’re pleased to be working again with Let’s Experience Electric and East Riding of Yorkshire Council to bring it back.

"If you’re considering your next vehicle or just want to learn more, come along and see what might suit your needs.”

Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, leisure, tourism and planning at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “For anyone thinking about their next vehicle, this event provides a valuable opportunity to see first-hand the growing range of electric vehicles now available and to speak directly with experts about the practicalities of ownership.

“As technology continues to develop, many drivers are finding that electric vehicles can offer lower running costs and a viable alternative for everyday journeys, especially with the cost of petrol and diesel nowadays.

“Events like this help residents make informed choices based on their own needs and budgets.

“I would encourage anyone with an interest to come along, ask questions and see what the latest vehicles and technologies have to offer.”

Andy Lewis of Let’s Experience Electric said: “Building on the success of last year’s event, we have even more brands this year for residents to see and test drive. We are seeing more people coming to these events as rising fuel costs, coupled with new, cheaper makes and models, are making people curious whether they could save money by transitioning. Even if you don’t have access to your own drive, the councils will be here to advise what could work for you. So come along and find out more.”
